The slave sensor (the one in the pool) supposed to send signals to the master sensor (the one next to the pool pipe/equipment) based on the water level of the slave sensor in a periodic manner. Then the valve supposed to open and water should flow to the pool. I have it for two months now. Once I found that my pool water level was down (the level was under the slave sensor). Then I found out that the the main controller lost the power. So I turned the power on, but water was not flowing. Then I figured out that in order for the system to work slave sensor needs to be on water (neither under nor over water level). Then I manually added water since my existing auto-fill still works, except the connecting pipe leaks a little-bit (that's why I bought this device in the first place). Yesterday I saw that the pool water level close to the bottom part of the slave sensor's. Then I verified that the green light was on and antenna was in place. Anyway, instead of waiting to check whether the system was send more water, I just added water manually through the existing auto-fill since I was at home. But I'm keeping a close eye on this system. You trust your car and it has more electronics than the Moon mission. Everything is sealed and the unit works perfect. If you don't or won't trench to install an auto fill this is perfect. No more turning on the pool fill valve and forgetting that it is on and overfilling the pool. I've had the Level Smart system installed for a little over a month now and it works great. Initial set up was a little confusing but once you get the hang of how it works, it's simple and straight forward. Had a question or two about the product and called them company and they were very helpful and informative. The only problem I could see with this product is that if you did have a leak in your pool, you may not realize it because the Level Smart keeps filling the pool whenever the water level gets too low. It would be great if this product had a feature where it created a log or record of when it turns on so you can actually see how often your pool is being filled. This would eliminate the problem of not recognizing a pool leak right away. I called the company after placing the order on Amazon (it was cheaper on Amazon), the actual engineer who created this product answered the phone, reassured me of when it would arrive and he kept his promise, I got it in two days. I had a question during the install, was able to get the engineer on the phone again. He was kind, patient and expert. This was exactly the solution I needed. The water line to my autofill cracked under the concrete, it could not be fished. Faced with the prospect of having to drag the hose over to fill the pool, I came up with this solution. I converted my vacuum line to instead deliver water into the pool. I installed this sensor inside the old autofill area. I installed the receiver/controller and the included valve in the pool equipment area. Now when the water level drops in the pool, this device automatically sends water in to restore the level. It installed in 30 minutes, worked perfectly right away. It is well engineered and well built. There are others out there that make wired systems, but I had no way to get wire to the pool. This wireless system works perfectly and is invisible.
