## Description

Winsor & Newton artisan water mixable mediums, fast drying improves the flow and speeds the drying of artisan oil colors, smooth's brushwork and increases gloss and transparency. It is excellent for glazing and producing fine detail and is resistant to yellowing. This is a very popular medium as it speeds the drying of oil color by about 50percent, allowing further layers to be applied more quickly. The formulation has been improved and this has helped to wet the color better.

**Q: Can you mix this with your acrylic heavy bodied tube paints to make them perform more like oils?**
A: Hi! No, you can't mix acrylics with oil of any kind, because the medium your acrylic paint uses is not oil. It will curdle and it won't stick. Use a spray bottle with water, or an acrylic paint retardant, or even an acrylic gel. Golden makes all of these.  Good luck!

**Q: Has anyone tried using this thinner for oil pastel or colored pencils? I am curious to see if it works with these mediums.**
A: Yes, you can use this as a thinner for oil pastel and colored pencil

**Q: Can I take it to other country by airplane in check-in luggage? Thanks!**
A: Call and check, it’s still combustible if it leaks.

**Q: How do I get the top off the 2.5 fl. ounce Artisan medium? Can't do it.**
A: You have got to push down hard and turn the cap at the same time.  If you can't get it off, try using a rubber grip it wafer.  Or you might try using pliers, or sometimes the inside of the handle of scissors.  Once you do get if off, I usually put the top back on "loosely" and at angle so I don't have so much trouble the next time.  Hope it helps.
