The reverse clamp design also allows for easier tightening and removal, while the isolation cylinders dampen unwanted vibrations when miking your drum. The DM50 works with most flanged, die-cast and percussion rims and fits 6"-18" diameter drums with rims as tall as 1 3/8".
Review: returned it - The drum mic clamp wasn't sturdy at all, so it was basically pointless. However, the return was a simple process!
