## Description

3M Particulate Respirator 8577, P95 is a disposable particulate respirator that is designed to help provide reliable respiratory protection of at least 95 percent filtration efficiency against certain oil and non oil based particles. A carbon layer reduces exposure to nuisance levels of organic vapors such as solvents, degreasers, and resins. Suggested applications include foundry operations, lab settings, agriculture, petrochemical manufacturing, and undercoating where particles and nuisance levels* of organic vapors may be present. Braided headbands and M Noseclip adjusts easily for fewer pressure points and greater comfort. The respirator incorporates 3M’s proprietary technology with advanced electrostatically charged microfiber filter media designed for ease of breathing. This respirator is compatible with a variety of protective eyewear and hearing protection. Fitted with a 3M Cool Flow Exhalation Valve, this respirator is ideally suited for work situations involving heat, humidity, or long periods of wear. The 3M Cool Flow valve is designed to release your hot, humid exhaled breath quickly, helping to reduce heat buildup. Review: Better than n95s - I like these masks for their tight seal, and they capture MORE than an n95 -- they are as suitable for germ prevention as n95s, but the added nuisance vapor layer greatly reduces fragrances and gas and wildfire, paint fumes (not just particulate) for a few hours (depending on how stinky things are ) -- and the exhale port helps prevent your breath condensation buildup. If you need to not spread your own germs just add a little surgical mask over the exhale port (but for wildfire smoke etc -- or when no one else is wearing a mask to prevent disease spread) protect yourself without the sweatyness of an n95 with no exhale port.

The smell from the smoking of cigarettes and cigars was overwhelming and made me sick. Using this respirator I was able to attend the meetings and still breath at the end of the day. The activated carbon is fabulous in absorbing the smoke from the air before it reached my mouth and nose. I especially like the cool flow valve on the front that aids in exhaling easily, minimizes the fogging of my eyeglasses from my breath, and helps keep my face cooler than when using the models that don't have the cool flow valve. I was using this respirator model long before Covid and now I buy them in packs of 10, which at $50 is about $5 per respirator. I've also used this when painting water based latex paint and haven't had any issues with the odors.

**Q: What state are they made in**
A: Unknown.  Made in USA with global materials.

**Q: Suppose the wearing time is 6 hours. If I wear 15 minutes each time, I can wear 24 times?**
A: A change schedule for particulate filters (5N11 N95, 5P71 P95 and 2000 Series) is more subjective. In most cases, 3M recommends changing the filter when breathing becomes difficult or if damaged. Time use limitations of 40 hours of continuous use or 30 days (whichever occurs first) apply to the P95 and P100 filters when an oily aerosol is present.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than good

When looking for a protective mask, most people don't know the difference between these paper type masks. Most people think they are all the same, but NA-NA, most people end up getting simple paper that filters out ONLY dust particles. Well that's good for dust and wood chips, but not the fine gases and potentially dangerous chemicals. This P95 is for the more problematic vapors you may run into, yet it is not PROOF. It is however much better than the plain paper nusance dust mask. If you work around nusance vapors & gases, this is the one you should get. I see far too many nail & polish workers using simple paper masks, and they truly need this P95 to protect their lungs and sinuses from those thinners and base solvents used in the Nail & Polish Shops. P95 uses finer filter papers and CHARCOAL filtration to accomplish what simple paper can't do. Get this and be better protected.
