Enjoy!!! **Q: Is this good for those with Lipedema or Lymphedema?** A: I have chronic edema in all four limbs and even mid-section that started 23 years ago. I've just started using the fascia techniques such as this device and am surprised at how much it helps. I wouldn't say this wouldn't work or would. But I get different help with the rolling sticks and the small two claw fascia blaster. I bought the blaster from their site as it was much cheaper even with shipping than found on Amazon or Ebay. I have four different sticks including the one from Giam sold here on Amazon. All came from Amazon. Two are smooth and just feel good when I went to work my legs all over. I use the blaster which does not roll in the shower while waiting for my hair conditioners and hair masks to work. I find you may need to add a some netted shelf liner to the handle to prevent it from being so slippery via soap and even oils. Definitely not a cure but it has helped a whole lot. I haven't found much information about using any devices in this category for edema. Mine is severe in the stage 4 now where they state it can't be managed much. I do use compression wear as it was the only real home treatment out there for years. BUT if I over do the compression hosery I can develop very hard to heal ulcers and sores on my shins. Then I have to wait it out. I've found antibiotic ointments the generic works as well as name brands to help with healing the sores. Doctors just hate it if you ask them for help. My new favorite edema tool is the Ciricade wraps. Light neoprene like material with velcro closures. I've bought new and new but returns via EBAY not just new. Guru Compression has the best prices for new and are very good at helping you with sizes too. They carry for arms and legs both including thighs and knees. Not for mid-drift or torso however. The consenses years ago was that my condition started with a caving accident as a fall 14 feet landing on my back side and or working with herbicide products in my job as a seed scientist or even minor surgery all three took place around same time the edema began. Try to stay on top of it. I know a lot more today then I did even 10 years ago. I could have prevented some of the misery had I known and that includes working with the fascia system where much of the lymph waste products settle into a thick goo so to speak. Not medical speak mind you my own feelings towards what it is like. Yes severe pitting. I work hard to keep it out of my hands and feet. I ware IMAK gloves to bed and helps a huge amount. But feet I let breath by not wearing anything at night on them usually unless swelling works it's way down from lower calf area now and again. The circaid products are suppose to be safe to use at night. ???? My experience is still out on that. There are many reasons this kind of edema develops and now so many years into it I've quit looking for answers to how or why but how to manage and live a full active life. I do ride and or walk at least 30 to 49 minutes almost every day year round. Walking works great for joints and edema in legs but my hands swell so I wear the gloves then too. Riding bike is great for cardio work and circulation problems so I like to do both. Riding in cars even trains for very long seems to make my edema worsen. Doesn't seem just related to sitting for long periods but more to do with the motion itself that contributes. So at least on a train you can usually get up and move about. Again the gloves on my hands helps a lot and I use the Imak wrist wraps too. Not a lot of compression but makes a huge difference for me. If you can tolerate over the counter tagamet for antacid usually an 11 to 12 hour tablet half of one a day has helped me in the past as somewhat diuretic that actually works. None of the prescribed types of diuretics doctors prescribe has done any good and not sure what or why the non traditional use of the tagemet does. But I developed heart problems even taking only one half a tablet a day so can no longer tolerate it at all. But if it doesn't have any side effects it might be worth trying a small bottle size to see. I accidentally discovered this benefit when taking it for stomach problems. My hands had been severely swollen for a full year and within a week they had gone back to normal. Since then I found the gloves do help. Good luck with your experiences with finding what works for you. Good luck if you can find any official doctor or doctors willing to work with you as in a partnership of actually caring to do so. I have found none over the past 23 years and two different states. Yes there are clinics today but some look suspect as in quaks. I'm now in my 60's and I know what my work for one person may not for another. Causes behind a condition may not be similar but quite different so may require a different approach. This item is like a single claw on the Facia Blaster style products. BUT those you push and pull with various pressures you apply thorugh and into the swollen skin and need a lubricant such as soap in shower and or non absorbing massage oils. I also treat my skin with massage and hydrating lotions and cremes sold through massage oil products. My favorites contain arnica and another acts like a super hydrater that I apply one or the other or both after I've used the blaster and or stick. You do not use oils with the sticks as the rollers often just slip and don't rotate if you have oil on etc. But I have worked out thicker and bumps if you will of the edema and been surprised at the results using a combination of these products not entirely just one. I use the sticks between the shower blasting. And I use the blaster three times a week and YES be prepared for bruises. If you are a female and go to a doctor be prepared to explain it's not your partner abusing you. It's you doing the damage. I have not had any problems to date with blood clots but I'm careful not to do it if I am taking aspirin for a few days which is a blood thinner. The spiked three ball roller I have I use on days not using the blaster. The smoother sticks without spikes I use anytime I want or feel the need to work out a few knots or in general feels good when I get up and or going to bed both. All of these devices works best on bare skin with or without the oils and lotions. **Q: Recommend white Original or green X-Firm version?** A: I've not used the original only extra firm, which does the job. I've used it consistently every night or every other night, and my IT band pain is nearly gone. I've used it just about every time that it flares up and this forces it to calm down every time. I'm now very close to pain free because of this and consistent stretching. Just be very careful with this thing and work your way into it slowly as you figure out where you need to apply pressure. I've gotten where I can pretty much put most of my 200+ pound weight into certain areas of my hip/upper leg with the only thing keeping me up being the spikes and one arm for balance. My nerves on one side I'm sure are shot to some degree since I can't do the same on the other side without giving in to the pain as fast.
