Review: I don’t usually recommend things but this?! I ABSOLUTELY DO!! - If you’re looking for a torch for checking livestock/horses in the dark, winter is approaching, and soon it’s going to be lambing/calving/foaling season and regular checks through the night are going to be done. THIS IS THE TORCH FOR YOU! The brightness of the white light is incredible, the zoom on the main light is perfect for looking across a field (biggest field I’ve used this in is approx 3acres) so no more trudging around the field in the hopes of finding the horse/pony/cow/sheep etc, the light catches their eyes and you’ve found them! (And if your field is boggy/marshy, you’ll be able to keep your boots on too!) The red light is perfect for getting close without spooking them, and if like me, you have a Welsh A stallion who spooks at.. well everything, even in broad daylight, this is ideal! He doesn’t spook at it, just his companion who looks kinda different. But he’s just quirky. The battery life is incredible too, thankfully! Most I’ve had in the past die after a few hours use, so far, so good! This has been charged once since purchase and still going strong after being used daily for evening checks on the horses. Pricier than most torches but, definitely worth it! Farmer, small holder, equestrian, dog Walker? This is a MUST HAVE for the winter!

One, to help me walk safely to my location, this does that with ease with its amazingly bright white light. The master lamp has a focus ring on it which changes the spread of light from a wide area coverage for close personal illumination to a long range tight beam of light for picking out & isolating subjects. The two satellite lamps either side help brighten up & widen the foreground spread of light. Two, there is also the function of having it give out a red light only to prevent destroying your night vision. It is very bright & does verge on being too bright if its shoe in to someone else eyes. This unit has a rechargeable battery pack which you connect via usb, adjustable strap & is comfortable to wear. I did wonder if all the lights at the front might make it unbalanced & strain your neck a little but the batt pack on the rear helps balance the front & you dont notice the weight after 5 or 10 minutes. I dont know how long the battery lasts, i recharge after every use & have it running off & on over the course of a few hours during which time it has never run out of charge.

**Q: Does the head torch have two 2200mah li-polymer batters?**
A: In the description it says . "High quality 2200mAh Li-polymer battery supports 4-4.5 hours fast charge which provides for 7-8 hours using time."

There are two of them.

I've personally never seen this size of battery before.

**Q: would this work under a cycle helmet**
A: I have just tried it under my husband’s helmet and yes but the helmet is big for me.  Much better over it but with the light part down on your forehead.  The beam is superb and the battery last about 6 hrs before I need to recharge it.  Hope this helps

**Q: The lights are flashing in a random sequence, cant seem to turn it off, have removed batteries and tried again. Random flashing lights starts again.**
A: The on off button on the top of the head torch allows different settings, you have to press the button several times to get the required setting you want.
If that doesn't work then it must be faulty.

**Q: What does it mean when the main red light stays on and you can't turn it off at all ?**
A: When its new and you plug it into the charger, you can press the button to cycle through the white lights but when it gets to red then it stays on red and you cant change to white lights or even turn it off. The reason is probably because you haven't opened up the battery compartment and removed the plastic film wrapping covering the batteries. There is a small card insert in the box which tells you to remove the film, but many reasonable people wouldn't read the instructions because its just a torch right, shouldn't need instructions for that?

Good bits. Fully charged on a dark street you can pretend to be a helicopter search light. Just don't accidentally shine it into someone's window. When walking a dog and they pull to one side, and you turn... I walk my dog at night mostly because, well, she's not the best behaved at the moment, so this has been very helpful! The small red light on the back is good for dark as well. Recently used the flashy setting when stood still waiting for some moron who was driving at the speed of sound, so was more noticeable. It worked. Excellent. Important bit of kit that on dark country roads! The red front light is quite cool, not as bright. The telescopic type feature is good as well, widening or narrowing the beam, and the combined narrow/wide with the duel LED, or just the dual led gives an impressive variability! I do find myself using the different settings often. THE SO/SO: Not so sure about battery life, it's decent, it takes quite a while to charge but it saves externally charging batteries. The straps can be a little difficult to get right on your head. But they're not terrible. A little faffy. Feels unbalanced on your noggin if you don't have them right, too. THE BAD: Discomfort. Have to wear it over a hat of some kind because the plate the light sits on actually feels quite scratchy and kinda digs into your forehead. Can't even quite figure our why, if I can I might fashion up a fix. VALUE FOR MONEY? I'd say so. I've had it a few weeks now and it's gotten a lot of us. Handy to have about the place, too. It's got its good and bads and on balance it's decent. Especially as it's well priced really. It's got a bit of novelty to it, and fully charged in the dark the light is seriously impressive. Moderate dark (street lights etc) it's not too great then (nor arguably do you need it to be...). If I needed it for serious safety stuff though, I'd probably be looking for something else. Longevity, can't account for yet. It's novel, it's charming somehow despite its faults, and the brightness when fully charged and its FULLY DARK never fails to make me chuckle. Seriously. I don't know if its because I've never owned one before, or what? Possibly. Does the job for me.
