To take it off I just had to push the exposed parts of the bottom of the ds. It has a lil indentation for the rised design of the ds on the cover. The case also has a unique little dip to let it close instead of just a parallel edge, which I found was pretty cool. These subtle details are 👌🏾 It looks v durable and will take on any scratches. The only thing most susceptible to breaking is probs the hinges. EDIT: When taking it off, make sure that you pay attention to the L and R buttons. I've had my button pop off when removing the case.
