If you take the same breath as you don't, I think the filter will not work well. This one has five layers of filtration (I've run out of one, I've cut it and checked it). But everything was fine and there was no difficulty breathing. **Q: how many filters are included?** A: There are 2 outer thinner white, 2 thicker white and a black layer-5 total. I have some GAP fabric masks. I fold the filter length wise, slide in the mask slot, unfold and position the filter to fit. **Q: Which one is better, this 3D activated carbon filter and that rectangular one?** A: I'm a nurse. I always use the rectangle. But now I think the three-dimensional protection will be better.
