Blessing or Curse: You Can Choose

Evidence presented, precisely presented, of the constant, deliberate alteration of previously well-understood, plain wording of Genesis 6 to render a doctrine totally outside the original text. Perhaps worse, as shown by the author, was tampering with the text of Deuteronomy 32, certain Psalms, and other important verses to say something that was not originally said, with the result of removing the Supernatural. Thank you, Douglas Van Dorn, for laying it all out, step-by-step, beyond a reasonable doubt, as would a prosecutor in a case for tampering with evidence, or, even, fabrication of evidence.. I am thankful to have the Kindle version to earmark and highlight; a print version to keep on the shelf; and several print versions to give to friends.

Great source of information

This is a must read for any person especially Christians. Everything you have in life is either one of two things, a blessing or a curse. Derek Prince easily describes which is what and how it became a reality. Both blessing and curses can come from an individual him/herself, or their ancestors or a nation etc. And on top of that we all have multiple blessings and curses so in order to receive the blessings one needs to revoke the curses and this book helps recognize blessings and curses. After this read I recommend getting Prayers That Rout Demons and Break Curses by John Eckhardt for a great list of Gods Word in Bible versus to announce you blessings and revoke your curses as Derek Prince states.

"Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children. If even one person can read this book (which is really the Word of God) and be set free from demonic bondage then Praise God. As I sit here and review this book my place of work is having a Harry Potter week - every single one of the people here are Christians - every one of them - they go to church at least 3 times per week, are good people, and hard workers who care about each other and their customers. They have no understanding about the spiritual doors that are being opened up by this idolatry. Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. I was delivered from a spirit of shamanism 3 years ago. I was heavily involved in shamanistic practices from almost 20 years - it is a very powerful force which is not from the one true living God. The deliverance took almost 2 years from the time I started repenting from my past until I was delivered. The moment of deliverance was excruciating but the years of torment were debilitating. My involvement in these practices brought curse onto me and my family. We, me and my family, are now free. Also, I have had many curses broken off of me. One in particular had been placed on me when I was a young child. Several nights a week for my entire life I would have these very intense and terrifying dreams about an evil presence that was threatening me as I slept. This presence would be in any house I was in when I was dreaming. As a child I would run away in my dreams. As I got older and learned more about the power of the word of God, I became more bold and began to hunt this spirit down in my dreams, but I could never find it. It was just an awful experience night after night after night with no relief. The fear that I felt was like hanging on edge of a very high building knowing that you were going to fall when your grip gave out. Then one night, as I began to dream, I began to hunt for this spirit. I got closer and closer then suddenly I woke up with a word from God about being under a curse. He told me what the curse was and who had placed it on me. I immediately began to pray about it and was released after about an hour of battle. That presence is totally absent from my life now. I found out years later that in voodoo, the name of the spirit is the "Waster" spirit. Now the big picture here is that this is just a book. BUT... it teaches the principles of the Word of God. Unfortunately, a vast majority of professing Christians - nullify the word of God by their traditions that have been handed down - they have not been taught the truth. And sadly, very sadly, I have tried to share this with many Christians and they absolutely refuse to listen and receive. Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: `These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules. Jesus said, "...And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch." Isaiah wrote, "For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led by them are destroyed. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. This book provides rock solid teaching from the Word of God. I have given you personal testimony of the blessings I have received from this teaching. It is just like the title says - Blessing or Curse - YOU CAN CHOOSE. So if you made it this far in my review, maybe God has spoken to your heart. You don't really need this book to receive the blessings, they are in the Word of God, but this book provides a great teaching that is available to all who hear His voice.

Derek Prince clearly explains how the Bible instructs us to release ourselves and others from curses and to release blessings on ourselves and others!

I can't even begin to say how helpful this book is. There is so much power, and information from beginning to end. There are also questions at the end of each chapter to help you glean the most important points. There are scripture verses and affirmations to speak after as well. This book is a treasure trove for those who want Gods blessing over every area of their lives. It contains essential truths to help an individual, but what was even more valuable was knowing these truths are available to help my kids overcome curses in their own lives. If you've not read Derek prince's books before, this is a good place to start. You quickly realize that he knows SOO much. This includes hebrew and Greek for the purpose of being able to study the Scriptures. However, this book isn't difficult to read. His goal in teaching isn't to be lofty in any way; rather, his desire is to write simply in order that anyone could pick up his books and understand the point easily. He's humble and gentle- it's very obvious that he loves people. Get this book- it's been a game-changer for our family. maybe it will be for yours, too!

The subject for this book is NOT interesting for the Christian Believer. It is SO MUCH MORE than that!! It may change your life in your relationship with Christ forever! Not every Christian is under a generational curse or self imposed curses, but if you are...this will be a great guide to help you discover going from what a cursed life is, to a peaceful blessed life in Christ with victory over your sin. I went from 20 years of being a born-again Believer still walking in curses in life, to being set free and truly walking in blessing. The book came into my life while trying to rid myself of demonic influence and sinful strongholds. During the most tormenting season in my life, Derek Prince Ministies was suggested to me. I was skeptical at best, but in serious need of help. After reading Curses & Blessing, my eyes were opened. I confessed all the activity and renounced it. At the end of the book there is a prayer that I read and made it my own. That was 6 months ago. I am now on the path from being seriously tormented daily, to having Christ lead me to a call of being in the missions field! I never would have guessed that a year ago! I was very much stumbling in sin and misserably hopeless trying to figure out why I was always on a rollercoaster ride with God. I never really got it until I read this book. The Lord is now the Stronghold of my life! If you are a Christian feeling hopeless and trying to understand why you fall back into sin so easily and seem to backslide more often than not, this book cannot help you....only the Lord can.... and will when you are honest & truthful with Him. This book can be a tool to help you understand that truth more clearly. THERE IS HOPE FOR YOU!!! My eyes are opened now, and ongoing sin is no longer winning. I have victory in my Savior now!

I am left with one statement after reading the book... "Thank you Jesus". I experienced the evil powers got releasd from me when I prayed /confessed by faith Lords' sacrifice on the Cross ...as advised in the book. Many more insights revealed ... It boosted my faith in Jesus... more understanding of using my tongue in right manner. It forced me to living by depending on Holy Spirit. Praise God for Prince, Derek.
