Thorough study of the development of the MP5 submachine gun. The book describes in detail the various models produced over the years. It also describes the various organizations that use it. For the most part, it's used by national police or counter-terrorism units. It's not typically a military combat weapon. Unfortunately, there are no tabulations of dimensions and performance. The author also assumes that the reader already knows the difference between a submachine gun, an assault rifle, and a machine gun as there is no discussion of it. For those of you who don't already know: a submachine gun uses 9 mm x 19 or 20 mm or so pistol rounds, an assault rifle typically uses 7.62 or maybe 7.92 mm x 33 - 37 mm short rounds, and a conventional machine gun uses 7.62 mm or 7.92 mm x around 57 mm long rounds.
