This red fur hat with ear flaps is a traditional Soviet Army Bomber Ushanka - warm and cozy, perfect for protecting from Siberian winds and snow storms. It is made of faux fur which consists of 80% wool and 20% polyester. This kind of fur has been designed in the Soviet Union specifically for such winter army hats. It is known for its durability and resistance to snow/water. It has a nice quilted lining. Each hat is supplied with a detachable Double Headed Imperial Eagle Badge. Should it be necessary, the badge easily comes off leaving no marks on the fur. They may be worn ear flaps up or down. Please specify your size upon ordering. Review: As expecte - Nice looking and fit well. Note that it is artificial fur and that metal badge is not stuck on well. But, worth it. Review: Authentic, but not "authentic" - It is a rather pretty hat, and by all means looks good, and is warm, but "authentic" while technically correct, would not be the term I would use to describe it. It is one of those touristy type hats they sell. From what I could tell it was made in Russia, and is comfortable, although I bought a size that's a tad too big in my opinion, it is definitely not "military" or surplus like I was looking for. I already own a surplus military ushanka, the very common blueish grey flavor, and that one is not only comfy, but genuinely holds a bit of history, to which I am uncertain to the degree of, but it is definitely made in the USSR, in "Leningrad" so pre 1991. However do note I am not an expert, and only know what I have researched. Otherwise seems to be sturdy itself, but the quality does not match the quality and material of the ones genuinely made as uniform equipment.
