It was bought for my adult son to use . It isn’t especially sturdy tbh, but is great for the price. Feels sturdy enough for my adult son who is 5’6” tall & slim build. However, I won’t be purchasing this bed for my other lad who is 6’2” tall, as I don’t think that it is quite strong nor sturdy enough for him (he is a big lad for 16 years old); he won’t have the ‘growing-room’ necessary, and I doubt that this bed would last him long due to it’s less than sturdy construction. However, it is a really good looking bed, and is great for my smaller adult lad. Fairly easy & straightforward to assemble, but it does have a centre-join along the main outer frame, and the slats are rather lightweight...this inevitably causes some weakness in the design & structure.
