Functional, cheap, probably necessary for most people who are installing sights on their pistols.

These punches do work and I doubt you can beat them for the money because they really cannot scratch your frame or sights. However, you will need an extremely hard surface that you don't have to worry about scratching if you do not own a gun vice (I did not). You will really have to hit them hard since the nylon is fairly soft. I scuffed up one of my three punches installing two Trijicon night sights sets on both of my Glocks but they are definitely still usable. Are these a necessity? No. But, they're probably the simplest and most guaranteed answer if you care about the finish on your gun and sights. Worst case, go to the hardware store and buy a metal punch and just put a couple layers of Gorilla Tape on the end to protect your finish.

Gets the job done cheaply but you gotta work for it

Much much much cheaper than a sight pusher tool. Gets the job done, but you gotta work for it. They can chip because of the material they’re made of but it’s a good trade off knowing they won’t goober up your slide. Nobody likes idiot marks on their slide. If you are having a hard time getting the rear sight to move, try flipping the slide over and going the other direction.

    Works for Glock rear sights

*by S***. on Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2016*

Not sure what in the world some of these other reviewers are doing with these punch tools, but they work perfectly for removing and replacing the rear sight on a Glock (Gen 3, 22). Not only do they do the job right, but not even so much as a scuff on the tool or the sights. If you have to go all Hulk on these to move a sight...you must be doing it wrong. True, seller says it's not for rear sights, but it worked perfectly for that application. This along with the Tekton 30812 soft mallet and you got yourself a $16 rear sight tool (assuming you already have a vise).
