The black part has what feels to be a rubbery/silicone-like texture. It does not feel like plastic. I’m curious about the 8 cup (34 oz) version. My daughter complains the water flows thru too quick and makes a weak cup of coffee.** A: Use COARSE grind, use more or less to taste (experiment is best)! >DO NOT use a paper filter, as this captures the essential oils that make the coffee more flavorful.
