This was the best deal I could find, without ordering one directly from China. I can't speak to the accuracy of the device, as I haven't tested it. The accuracy is listed as +-1.5 C which is +-1.8 F. Using my engineering sense, I'd imagine the device easily falls within that range.I am using it for less than scientific purposes. I want to be able to check my pizza stone before I throw pizza on. It works good for frying pans as well. The temperature range goes up to about 626F, so that provides a good range. I moved into an old house with drafty old windows and doors. I used this as a rough guide to see which the worst culprits were, and where to prioritize insulating during the brief time before winter.And most importantly, this device also functions as a cat toy. She loves chasing the laser.
