My understanding of a sediment filter is to trap particles that get past your pump screen to keep them out of your pressure tank and the rest of your water system. This unit is so much better quality. Took me no time to install with the included shark bite connectors. No leaks and didn’t have to redo any of my work. I did swap the filter screen to the included 500 micron filter.
