I purchased both, used both and liked each of them. If I am working long periods on material that is not at the upper limits of hand pruning, I prefer the 101 for the slightly smaller size and improved ergonomics. I am kind of a shrimp at 5'-6", but my hands are not small. I gifted my 101 to my 5'3" daughter and she loves it.
