Is this better than the styline kettle?

Yes it’s more modern and very efficient. Also the lid is easier to open and the lighting is very stylish.

Is there space and the facility to coil any excess power cable under the kettle base/stand?

Yes, there is a circular space to wind the cable under the stand. But the lead is fairly short anyway.

Difficult to tell from the picture, is it easy to see the water level? Does the water level panel light up? Is it easy to see the water level?

The water level is directly under the handle which is inconvenient. I don't think the panel lights up. Otherwise a brilliant kettle. I am very pleased and the option of different temperatures for different infusions and ground coffee is a revelation

How many temperature settings? Seen advertised as 7 elsewhere but looks like 4 on Amazon?

It shows the 4 temperatures of 70 80 90 & 100 each of which can be selected but also the 5 degree increments between them can also be selected and so has the 7 settings. It gives a single bleep when it has reached the selected temp. A very nice kettle and I would thoroughly recommend it.
