I think whether or not you like this watch will depend on your familiarity with smart watches and your expectations.If you are looking for a "grown up / professional" timepiece that provides notices of emails and text messages without having to plug in every night to keep the charge up, you are likely to love this watch. It seems to have been designed to look and feel like a real timepiece.If you are looking to play games, want touch screen simplicity or want to install lots of apps, or do much more that receive notifications, you are likely to hate this watch. Also, if you are unwilling to work through the god-awful software and install procedures to get your watch working with your android phone, you are also likely to be disappointed.But, after you emerge from the confusing, frustrating, and often nonsensical installation and snycing process, this watch looks great, works great and has unbelievable battery life.I own several smartwatches - pebble time, moto 360, and Microsoft band2, Each has pros and cons. The pebble time is the most functional, but looks like a toy, and as a 50yr old adult, cannot shake the feeling when wearing it that I got it out of a "happy meal" - but its functionality is incredible, it installs easily, and works for a few days without needing to charge. The Moto 360 has a nice face, is round, and looks more elegant, but needs to be charged every day, and often cannot go an entire day without a charge. The Microsoft band has the best overall functionality and features, rocking an internal GPS, UV sensor, and impeccable heart rate monitor. But it looks like a fitness watch, not a timepiece, and I only get 2 days of charge. Also,. each of these watches require the watch to turn off the backlight to conserve power, making it mostly unreadable without a distinct action to activate the backlight.The vector smartwatch, once installed and configured, also uses a backlight that turns off to conserve power, but the e-ink display is somehow reflective, and is pretty easy to see in natural light without needing to constantly flick my wrist to keep the backlight on. The device also sips power, and while I don't get 30 days without a charge, I do get 2-3 weeks, and charging is quick (about an hour).But as others have mentioned, if you want to use this to order Starbucks, buy a pizza or do your taxes, this is not the watch to own. It truly is a beautiful timepiece, but ultimately it should function as a smart watch. Where do I begin? The weather "stream", as it's called, was always way off. It's currently 51 outside--the watch says it's 44. My calendar events synced for the first couple of days, now it says "no events" when there are events in my calendar. It is supposed to work with Windows Phone, but neither steps nor sleep tracking work. The web site says it is planned for a future release. The app works fine, but it takes forever to resume once the phone goes on standby.I like to cheer for the little guy and I wish this company well, but I just can't recommend it. Maybe it will improve, but though its looks are 5 star, for now I can only give it 2 stars because of the issues.
