Cyberlink was really slow at handling videos and clips - agonizing in fact. Sony Movie Studio 13 Platinum is absolutely blazing fast on a three-yr old machine with only 8GB. The interface is intuitive (although in fairness, it's likely intuitive because I've used Sony CD Architect for years). The only issue I've had is that it evaporated while writing out the audio stream for an HD movie I was assembling from an HD camera several times. It turned out that Bitdefender Total Security 2015 somehow detected something in the audio stream as malicious, and "dealt with the threat" by killing Sony Movie Studio. My advice there - disable your proactive virus detector software while writing out DVDs to disc to avoid the issue. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Results If You Know What You're Doing *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2015* Most of the reviews for this product conclude that it is difficult to use.I would agree somewhat with that assessment, particularly for those who have never used such software before and are looking for a one-click-and-done solution. Prior to purchasing this I had been using Nero 2015 Platinum which was easy to use, but was buggy and produced horrible results. My focus was on converting video tapes to DVD and the MainConcept MPEG engine included with Sony Movie Studio is highly acclaimed for rendering the best possible video output. Note that this is the same MPEG engine included with Sony's more expensive Vegas suite and with Adobe Premier, but at a fraction of the cost.Sony includes lots of nice features in Movie Studio (if you can find them) such as the ability to set levels and perform color correction.Movie Studio and DVD Architect are 2 separate programs which are both included in the Platinum edition. DVD Architect can be tedious to use. It doesn't use a wizard and there are lots of settings and incomprehensible error/warning messages to deal with, but you can create a decent menu based DVD after coming up to speed.I would suggest that potential buyers download and install the fully functional (unlike Adobe Premier Elements) trial version and use it for 30 days before purchasing.
