Review: A Recommendation about the Denazo 4490 Hiking Poles - Further Update: Denazo contacted me, and we will work together on a test of a second set of poles to check the durability of the graphite/tungsten tips, in case the first set I was sent was merely an anomaly. Except for the tips, the Denazo 4490 poles are, as I stated in my original review (below), thoughtfully designed. Denazo is serious about providing the best product possible, and their representative has made it clear that any problem I have encountered will be addressed and solved. This is excellent service and dedication, and I am pleased to restore my five-star rating, subject to the durability of those tips in further use. Update after one month of steady use: the carbide tips of the Denazo 4490 hiking poles snapped off on the ice. I could not find replacement tips from Denazo, wherever they are, and tried to fit ski pole carbide tips over the ends. It was more trouble than it was worth. I recommend buying hiking poles that have replacement parts because you know that rubber tips and carbide tips are going to wear out. Denazo's poles are well designed but really need to supply replacement parts that fit their particular poles. I chose the Denazo 4490 hiking poles because they have obviously been designed on the basis of hikers' actual experience and suggestions for an excellent all-purpose design. They also represent a good value for such a high-quality set of aluminum poles with proper top grips and foam grips underneath them for steep climbs. The double grips mean one does not have to change the lengths of poles on awkward terrain. Here in Minnesota's winter, I especially appreciate the ice-chipping tips, which seem more robust than those on most other hiking poles. In sum, these are well-designed, well-balanced, lightweight poles that inspire confidence in their durability; and all this is at an attractive price.
Review: Great, but one flaw - I very much enjoy this product. My friend turned me on to hiking poles. I never considered using them before, but found them very useful and this product of very good quality. I do however have a complaint, the soft tips that you use most commonly get lost very easily. I lost one on my friend's set of poles, I lost -both- of mine, and my girlfriend lost one of hers. What I mean by lost is just during a hike they come off, in my case some soft mossy ground just sucked them up never to be found again. Now I'm left with the hard pick-style tips, which are a big no-no in Arches National Park as you can damage the large rocks that are the foot-paths. I really wish the soft tips threaded onto the pole's tips, but they do not. Can I get improved replacements?

### ⭐⭐⭐ Not great
*by A***R on April 6, 2016*

I fell for the super discount and assumed that the product was worthy of the original price. Not so. The "cork" handles are more plastic than cork and the straps are cheap with the buckle being right where the wrist rests, so they are not very comfortable. The poles themselves are light which I hope doesn't turn out to mean feeble. I'm not initially impressed.
