The biggest improvement is the lack of rattle. The kydex pouch had no retention so the mag would rattle as you walked. I didn't think this was a big deal until my mother-in-law asked me "what's that in your pocket?". The only thing I don't like is the angle it holds the mag at. It sits at 45ish degree angle. It works as said. Holds mag tight even in shorts while I'm out on my rzr side by side and have not lost a mag yet.
