## Description

Product Description 2013 Japanese pressing. Universal Music Classics. desertcart.com Friendship--a sacred bond at the heart of many anime series--comes to the fore in these episodes of the hit slapstick-adventure Fairy Tail. As the stalwarts of Fairy Tail battle the sinister Phantom Lord Guild, they and the viewer learn that Lucy is a member of the fabulously wealthy and powerful Heartfilia family. But she's rejected her cold, mercenary father for the warm loyalty of her friends. When Natsu goes one-on-one with Jaleel the Iron Dragon, the audience gets a glimpse of his latent powers, while Gray inadvertently wins the heart of morose water-wizard Juvia ("drip, drip, drop"). Lucy's loyalty is tested when she discovers the shady background of Guild lothario Loke, but she brings his sad story to a satisfactory conclusion. The series takes a darker turn when Natsu, Gray, Lucy, and Juvia learn about Erza's unhappy childhood in a sinister tale that pits the Guild members against their most deadly foe to date: Jellal, the servant of Zeref, a god who is the embodiment of hatred. But even in the most dire situations, the filmmakers leaven the threats with a healthy dose of slapstick: Natsu fights two of Jellal's minions with his head stuck in a kawaii (ultra-cute ) cat mask. Before the gang has time to celebrate their latest victory, they're threatened by the Thunder Legion. Their leader, the lightning-wizard Laxus, intends to wrest control of Fairy Tale from his grandfather, Makarov--even if it means killing the innocent citizens of the surrounding city. Much to their chagrin, Natsu and Gajeel have to join forces to defeat Laxus. The ending suggests even greater foes are lurking in the wings and that the wizards of the Fairy Tail Guild have been manipulated from behind the scenes. Although these episodes offer more action and less humor than previous installments, Fairy Tail remains as entertaining as ever. Review: A fun series flexes its dramatic muscles - In this set, Fairy Tail really blossoms as each successive story/arc brings something special to the table. Personally, my favorite parts are the Tower of Heaven Arc and Lucy's confrontation with her father. In a story that is largely lighthearted and adventure-focused, these dramatic moments really elevated the show for me. Ezra's storyline was particularly moving and served to make her my favorite character in the show. Even the secondary characters (Erza's friend Simon, Juvia, and Mirajane) get some great moments to shine. These, combined with the steady stream of jokes, make for a great watch. What really sells the show, on a personal level, is the underlying story about a group of misfits (including runaways, orphans, and ex-slaves) who form their own loving (if eccentric) family and stand by each other through thick and thin, something this misfit appreciates very much
Review: Amazing Series, Good Collection - The Fairy Tail series is one of my all time favorites. It is nearly nonstop unadulterated awesomeness. There is action, emotion, excitement, great music, quality art, etc. Everything that makes a great anime. This is a shonen through and through, though. If you are into more mature anime, this probably isn't going to be your cup of tea. If you like anime like: Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, you'll like this one. The second collection contains one of the best arcs in the series in my opinion. A good cast of characters is introduced in this collection. It has a decent amount of character development, too. I think this is better than the first collection, personally. A must watch!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ what an amazing price!
*by P***O on December 12, 2013*

wow, much anime. 24 episodes for 22$? that's less than a dollar per episode. very generous. so affordable. such value. This is on blu-ray, so how is the quality? Keep in mind, this season aired before the HD revolution went mainstream. the episodes are in widescreen, however, obviously, they are an upscale. that is not bad, per se, but you can expect a little bit of blurry-ness which is still better than watching DVD quality. however, this includes both DVD and blu-ray so if you want to watch it on DVD instead, go ahead! the story in this arc shows the beginning of the romance between grey and juvia, don't miss it! it also revolves around natsu and gajeels rivalry.
