Review: Works pretty well but know it will stain/darken your teak wood - Used this on a teak shower mat. Definitely turns the teak a golden orange/brown dark color, but I think it makes it look better. In the first picture: the right side is untreated and the left side is with the teak oil on it. It does have a bit of water beading, but not always, depends on how much water hits it and how long the oil has been on it. It also has a potent smell, but I find it pleasant. Hard to explain the smell, but it's sort of a woodsy clean smell, not overly chemical-like. It actually makes the whole bathroom smell woodsy. I really slather this oil on with a paint brush and let it soak in for 30 minutes or so, I don't even bother to wipe it off. But be warned that you do not want to lay any towels on top of it, they will stain them. I do get some molding underneath the teak mat but its underneath so I'm not too worried about it. Twice a year I bring it outside, clean it off and re-apply. Probably be a long time before I need to purchase another bottle.

**Q: What are the ingredients in the oil?**
A: The exact ingredients are not listed, but it does contain petroleum distillates.

**Q: What is best to use to apply the oil?**
A: I have been using an old cloth diaper that I keep in a rubbermaid container - now that the weather is clearing up I will take my benches out - clean with aqua teak cleaner and then take out my trusty rag and rub the oil in and let it bake in the sun!

**Q: Is there a 'best method' for applying it to the inside of the saw cuts of my Aqua Teak shower chair?**

A: I used the product on three pieces of furniture that stayed on my front porch all last summer, then fall and winter.  All still look great, but it’s not direct sunlight.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Needed something to protect my investment

Purchased a Teak stool and according to the literature I would need to have a Teak Oil to keep it 'sealed' and protected. I have had the opportunity to work with Teak woods and have found that unlike most other types of woods, Teak wood is unique and needs a lot of attention and oils. After some careful research to find the ideal oil, this oil met that criterion. Applying Teak Oil is not simply applied and forget it. You must, like polishing an automobile, "work it in" in order to protect your investments. This oil is no different. Once you understand the 'work' involved to work the oil in, and do it often and correctly, and oil, including this one, will work just fine. There are other oils one can use for protecting wood surfaces, but if you want pure Teak blends, and do not mind the efforts to work with it, then this may be the correct choice. Now it is not a professional grade oil, after all professional woodworkers use their own special blends, but for something right out of the bottle, you will be happy with this.
