Would it get too hot for stencils?** A: YES, you can cut out stencils!!! I do it all the time with just a regular woodburning tool! I use the TINY point attachment. I even cut out a stencil out of TRACING paper. And it turned out AMAZING. **Q: Is this all i need to start carving into a wooden walnut canvis?** A: This is NOT any of the necessary items to start carving wood.This is sufficient to get started with pyrography / wood burning into wood. Do keep in mind that it lacks any sort of temperature adjustment for pyrography. As a first timer kit or for simple projects (bold dark lettering outlines etc) it is acceptable. **Q: Do the number tips fit on this pen?** A: The tips have to be able to screw in. Any tip that you use needs to be made of good material or the tip will become loose and not heat up right. Even the tips that come with this burner become loose after it gets really hot. You really need to be careful not to put any pressure on the tip while using it since that will really make them loose.
