All in all it’s the best kettle I’ve had for a decent and not excessive price like a lot of the other vintage looking kettles which range from £80-100 easily. The best £33 I’ve spent for a long time. Kind regards Haden Appliances. **Q: How much plastic is in this kettle apart from the water guage?** A: The base and electrics cover as well as the water level gauge and filter, black knob and handle is what I would call a plastic composition. the body, lid and handle supports are all metal with what seams to be a good powder coat paint finish. We find it works very well is easy to fill has an easy to read water gauge. Looks good as well. Hope this helps. **Q: How long is the cable from plug to base?** A: The cable is a fairly generous 0.8 metres......or just over 31 inches in old money. Easy to fill, pours very well. Negatives - the chrome colour is plastic not metal (it probably says this on the ad but I presumed it would be metal, not noticeable at a distance though) Annoyingly, the minimum amount of water is 3 cups! Such a waste to have to boil 3 cups each time I want 1 cup of coffee. It did mention the extra water on a different review but I didn't realise it was quite a lot more to boil each time.
