The Salient delivers in both brightness and functionality. One of the key functions I enjoy is the zoom function. If you're not using it, you're not getting the maximum power of this flashlight. Fully zoomed out, you can flood an entire inspection area. When zoomed in, the aircraft tail if highly visible from the ground. All in all, the best flashlight I've ever obtained for the price. Not sure how each company measures the output exactly or if there is a standard. I was also really impressed with the different lighting settings, allowing for a strobe and an SOS signal to be sent automatically with the light.
