My mother and grandmother have been using this bar and it really can whiten shirt and remove stains and stink without drying out the cloth. But how I use it is with liquid detergent with non/colored clothes is: Wash clothes with warm water, Put the liquid soap and another warm water in a basin. Scrub the armpit and neck areas only with soap (I'm budgeting here). Scrub all around. Sometimes I do/don't soak the whole clothes for a while depending on the color and time (I'm a grad student).
