Russell Hobbs ATHENA2 Upright Vacuum

OMG!!! I so love this hoover. As I have OCD where I had to borrow a Henry. No offence, but I like to see the dust in the cylinder so that I know each room is clean. The attachments work well for skirting boards, stairs etc. Great value for money, as this is my 15th hoover in 11 years... I burn them out. Very impressed 👏

This vacuum replaced a 1800watt Tesco model. My wife wanted the new one to be lighter, which influenced my decision. Overall I'm very pleased with it so far. Uses 800watts, but the suction is significantly superior. It is noticably both lighter and quieter than the predecessor, and the upright handle flexes side to side as well as for & aft, making cleaning around furniture easier. Easy to empty and clean. There are two filters in the top of the cyclone tube, a hard corrugated filter which is washed clean monthly and a circular foam insert. This certainly traps fine particles and needs knocking clean at each emptying, as well as monthly wash. I hope I can buy more of these, as they will fray fairly quickly. The hose is not very long. but easy to use. A twin ended crevice / brush tool was provided, which is unremarkable. Overall it is light, powerful and easy to use, so pleased to recommend. Correction: It has been pointed out that the Athena 2 is a 400w cleaner, which from my perspective makes it's cleaning power all the more impressive. Have yet to source more circular foam filter inserts, but I remain very satisfied with this vacuum cleaner.

I wasn’t expecting anything too fancy for the price. It doesn’t look particularly robust but it is lightweight and has really good suction. The amount of dog hair it sucked up in a couple of minutes was ridiculous. Easy to assemble. Not sure on durability but my teenagers will probably end up breaking it like most items in the house 😟

Great product gets deep into the carpet and picks up everything. So light weight and a long cord which helps to get every room done.

Seems to be doing a good job. Easy to set up and has a spare belt. I do find it tricky to move over certain areas of my living room carpet but its generally a pretty good vacuum.

Hoover just spreads dirt around. Hoovered the rug and it flicked the shake and vac from the rug all over the laminate flooring and sofas. It doesn't suck up dog hair well at all I have to use a rubber gloves over carpets to pick up the hair after hoovering. The extension lead pops off all the time and doesn't stay in place. The attachments is 1 with 1 double ended universal thing you have to switch over and is also useless, doesn't fit into small gaps and the brush attachment is softer than a baby's hair brush, wouldn't get the dust out of a speaker. The filter blocks easily and you have to take the whole easy empty part off to clear it setting off my dust allergies. I wasted money and should of just got a shops own brand instead that sounds like a jumbo jet taking off but can actually suck up a grain of rice rather than projectiling it across a room.

It's difficult to know how many stars to give this hoover. It didn't do anything wrong. It is only really for small places, like a one bedroom flat. I live in a very big house and we have a cleaner. Yeah, lucky me. But when I got this hoover, it was quickly clear that asking the cleaner to do the whole house with it wasn't really fair. For one thing, the power lead is really quite short. When I've used it, I've found myself standing on the lead and having to be careful not to keep running over the lead with the hoover. So I bought a much bigger hoover for the cleaner to use. I now nurse this hoover as my back up, and for when I want to clean small places quickly. Also very good for cleaning canvas prints I have on some of the walls, because it's quite a light little thing. It won't be for everybody, but in the right situation, other than the shortness of the lead and the way you almost trip over it, it's good value for money and a useful addition to the utility room.

This is a beast nice suction easy to manoeuvre in tight area assembly is very easy very durable material nice size worth the money for sure

Very limited use before motor cuts out. One room is about the maximum. Very disappointed!
