## Description

Water Resistant, Engine-Specific

Review: Great Primer - I used VHT Paint (Primer, Satin Black, and Clear) to restore my motorcycle wheels which had over 100,000 miles on them and looked pretty beat up. I really like working with VHT spray paint and is my first choice for a number of different applications from brake parts to engine blocks. So when I was looking for paint to restore my wheels, I turned to VHT. This paint spray nicely - and dries to the touch in 30 minutes. They suggest two light coats followed by one medium coat allowing 10 minutes in between coats. All coats should be applied within 1 hour. Any additional coats after the one hour - you need to wait 7 days for the paint to cure. This is about the only spray paint I have found that you can actually use rubbing compound to polish out the final coat and achieve a really smooth, glossy surface. My wheels look like brand new
Review: Good on engines - When you want an above average job, VHT is the way to go. It’s not the absolute best but it’s definitely gives top results from a rattle can. Very happy with this product. I use the primer first the paint second and the clear third always great results. Just pretty sure that what you’re paying is absolutely clean and free from all contaminants and you’ll get great results too.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: can i use this on my brake calipers**
A: Yes. I've used it on my brake calipers and it works great. Depending on how much you drive you may have to touch it up to keep it bright every so often but that's going to happen regardless of what paint you use because brake dust, etc. I use this because its high temperature.

**Q: Is it OK to use a gray primer and then use a hot pink paint over top of the gray**
A: Primer of any kind will be good for a nice finish for whatever you are painting. I recommend 3 light coats of primer lightly sanded in between. When getting ready to apply you engine paint, beware, this is thick paint. It has heavy particulate matter which is the paint. I recommend that you turn the paint can upside down for 3 to 4 hours. This paint settles heavily. After several hours upside down, shake violently to get it mixed well. After that don't spray too close to your target surface. Do not spray at any temp less than 72 degrees fahrenheit, and spray evenly side to side about 5 to 6 inches, from surface.

**Q: Has anyone had luck with the VHT clear coat enamel? Does it last and resist chemicals?**
A: Hey Josh, Pretty much like any other Clear Coat. It does work. Should re spray a couple of coats. It will last for awhile,depending how it's used!!   Hope this helps!   {wolfman}

**Q: Is the gold one a glossy finish?**
A: yes it is..

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ vht engine enamel is the good stuff.
*by E***R on 28 August 2012*

I used the VHT engine enamel primer, paint and clear to cover the corroded, discolored aluminum on my motorcycle engine. I have seen other painted aluminum engines begin to flake and peel. I did not want this to happen. I cleaned the aluminum w acetone, primed, painted and cleared and cured according to VHT instructions. This paint MUST be cured properly. Until it is properly cured it is pretty fragile. 2000 miles and a year and a half later the finish on my engine is still in really good shape. The paint sprays on really smooth and even. Great coverage. I recently had to strip and rebuild my engine. I am here now to order more to re-spray it. I highly recommend this product.
