I probably use a 14' line each time i trim. I will also tell you yes sometimes little pieces break off but I can load and go with my ego trimmer while some of the other guys are still trying to get string in their trimmer. I am 74 years old and I can trim circles around the guys in the neighborhood trying to get the line working in their trimmer.
