You plug it in and it heats up in about 2 minutes. A light comes on letting you know when to put sandwich in. I brush the exterior side of two slices of bread with butter and fill the interior with cheese and/or meats, place it in the maker and close the lid, and it cooks perfectly in three minutes. You do have to set a timer, since it does not have one, and there is no on and off button, but other than that it is perfect for the price. After it is cooled off, you simply wipe it down with a damp cloth, so it is easy to clean.

**Q: Can i make flour tortillas with this?**
A: I don't think so--it doesn't seem like it would close tightly enough for that.  There are other machines out there specially designed for tortillas.

I was worried this was going to be piece of crap for the price, but this is an unpretentious little sandwich maker that does exactly what it is designed to do. You plug it in and it heats up in about 2 minutes. A light comes on letting you know when to put sandwich in. I brush the exterior side of two slices of bread with butter and fill the interior with cheese and/or meats, place it in the maker and close the lid, and it cooks perfectly in three minutes. You do have to set a timer, since it does not have one, and there is no on and off button, but other than that it is perfect for the price. After it is cooled off, you simply wipe it down with a damp cloth, so it is easy to clean.
