Review: Stop straining your eyes... - Being a man over 60 and into electronics, swapping glasses all the time to see the tiny writing on components became a chore. searching the web I came across this microscope that seemed the answer as most of the time I would be sitting in front of a PC to use it. I wasn't sure what to expect for the very reasonable price, but wow was I surprised! it's perfect for what I want it for, easy to see the smallest details on a large screen and great for soldering small pins on a processor. Once you get the included stand set up it's good to go, the light is very bright and is adjustable, it's small size makes it easy to pack away in a very nice case when not needed which makes it very portable. Connectivity is good, the microscope will show up in Windows in the camera app so you can use it without installing further software. I'm very happy with the quality and it's made my hobby a lot easier. I would it.
Review: An inexpensive way to explore what a digital microscope can do. - This is a decent quality product, which is also reasonably priced. I think it is an inexpensive way to explore what a digital microscope can do for you. It will certainly serve that purpose well for me. It is supplied with the following: • a sturdy case • USB A to C adaptor • an adjustable stand • a printed instruction booklet • software on CD disc The USB A plug on the camera lead also contains an ingeniously concealed micro USB plug. There is also a brightness control in the lead, which controls how much light is projected onto the area that the microscope is scanning; more light does seem to enhance picture quality. The camera is well made and the focus control is easily adjustable. Unfortunately, the supplied stand lacks weight, which can cause the picture to jump about on screen when adjusting the focus slider. The size of print on the instruction booklet is on the small side, but I was still able to read it quite easily with my reading glasses. The the supplied software CD was a disappointment as each time I tried to install ‘Amcap’, the installation crashed. Downloading the software from the Cainda website resolved that problem. ‘Amcap’ worked fine on Windows 10 for pictures, see below, but I found getting good focus on video captures to be difficult although a more stable stand would probably help with this issue. I also managed to get decent pictures and good video capture using the Windows 10 Camera App, also see below. It might be worth mentioning that the camera input setting will need to be changed to use the digital microscope with the Windows Camera App. I managed to get the microscope to work on my Android phone using ‘USB Camera-Connect Easycap’, but this app is video capture only. The first and second pictures were taken with ‘Amcap’. The first is a ⅛ watt resistor, which is 1.5mm diameter and 3mm long. The second is a piece of writing paper and clearly shows the fibres in the surface of the paper. The third picture and the video capture were taken with the Window App. The picture is the surface of the “Enter” key on my keyboard.

**Q: Can u get spare end attachment for Android phone ss it looks quite flimsy**
A: I returned mine within days as it did not work for me at all! I could not even get the initial screen I was supposed to get on plugging the scope into my laptop. The instructions that came with scope were hard to understand written in what I call Chinese English! I visited the company website where 2 models of the scope were identified with 2 model numbers but the scope I received had no model indicators anywhere!? Tried both but to no avail. I emailed the company but they did not respond! There was an offer of a free stand upon request, I requested the stand it never arrived! Subsequently on realising that I have returned the scope for refund the seller emailed me stating they had not received my emails and offered a replacement, I did not take their offer!!

**Q: Thinking of buying for grandson doing tree preservation. Is it strong enough to check soil samples?**
A: I have not had any experience of studying soil samples, only botanical specimens, but what I can say is, the stand that comes with the "scope" is not stable enough to prevent "shake" when examining specimens. I purchased an optional rigid stand that cured the problem. For outside field work I would suggest using it freehand.

**Q: Will it work on a Amazon Fire Kids tablet and can software be downloaded?**
A: I can't say for sure whether it'll work or not BUT - the Amazon Fire kids tablet has an Android operating system - and the USB microscope works perfectly under the Android O/S, and it'll connect via the Fire's USB port (and comes with a variety of adaptors to suit the particular connection required). And yes, the software needed can be downloaded for free via the Google Play Store.

This microscope works very well - I found it easy to set up and use. The stand slips a bit but you can get a better one from the company without further cost. A very good purchase. It is a good sturdy product and a good present for students also.Delivery was quick and the whole thing comes in a nice case.
