During usual PC soft restarts or regular power on, this is not necessary. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the job but with a couple quirks. *by W***R on April 15, 2022* I needed a USB-C adapter that could output to my 49" ultrawide monitor with a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440. Thankfully this supports the resolution well! However, this adapter has a couple drawbacks compared to connecting my laptop via a dedicated port. First, my monitor will not go into "sleep" mode whenever the computer is off. I need to manually turn off the monitor or the backlight will continuously remain on with a black screen. Secondly, this is VERY picky about which port it's connected to. Standard USB3 will have lots of glitches and jitters in the screen output when used on a 2021 Dell Precision. This MUST be connected to a thunderbolt port to output a clear image at these higher resolutions without lots of glitchiness.
