You will need to remove it to dump your bread. I use shortening to grease my cans. You need to let the bread cool a bit before dumping. Google "coffee can breads" for recipes. Trial and error. Some work better than others. In reading recipes, many comments refer to the problematic ‘lips’ that make removal of the finished product difficult to impossible. Some even recommended removing the bottom lid, which of course makes reusing the can impossible! It’s very easy, however, to remove the lip with a basic can opener. Voila, perfect vessel for baking, with no sharp edges.
