Great price. Quick and efficient delivery. Set up was easy but but but there is no digital display so you cannot see how long you have been watching a DVD or how long you have got left. This seems to be a basic requirement for any DVD player. Should have looked at the photo more closely but even our 10 year old Aiwa has a digital display. Product was returned to Amazon and process was painless with my card being credited within a few days. Have given it 4 stars (3.5 would be better for a returned product but 3 seems a bit mean!!) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ exactly what i needed. *by M***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 April 2012* this dvd player is exactly as described and exactly what i needed, its very sleek, with a soft touch finish and slim design. It's actually also very lightweight, and when i picked the box up i was immediately impressed by the effort it took to pick up. at the moment i am extremely impressed with my purchase, my last phillips dvd player was also excellent, but we unfortunately had to get rid of that player as the disc tray was believed to be stuck, when the tv was placed on top of the player. so be aware that the player cant take a great amount of weight. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Philips DVP3111/05 DVD Player. Good but basic. *by G***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 August 2012* This is a very basic DVD player with good picture quality.PROS: Attractive slimline case. Good quality pictures. Decent quality remote. Plays MP3's and other file formats. Scart and video connections at rear.CONS: Slight rumble from deck when playing. Only basic controls: Play/Pause/Search/ Zoom. Zoom is poor: it doubles as a "picture fit". NO SLOW MOTION PLAY. Case is very thin and flexes if another unit is stood on top of it. No power-off switch. Remains on standby unless unplugged. No USB socket.CHECK: The manual states that this is Region 2 only (Europe/UK) but some DVP3111/05's are advertised as "multi-regional". I haven't got a Region 1 disc to check this player out, but it's not responding to entering the multi-regional hack for this model (key in 99990 from the remote). Perhaps there are two distinct models available.CONCLUSION: If you want a decent no frills player then this will do the job and is very good value if you can get it new at less than £20 (as I did - £16).
