Here's some suggestions for your first TEST CALL... *by D***. on June 6, 2016* This is a true cell phone. It should work on any 2G compatible tower. No contract or fee - ever. We successfully reached 911 with no problem from my mother-in-law's home near Farson, Wyoming (middle of nowhere). The dispatcher said there was no phone number but the device's IMEI number was automatically logged into the call notes of their 911 system. (The IMEI# is a unique 15-digit number assigned to ALL cellular devices.) The operator volunteered to add my Mother-in-law's Name and address into the call's log. Now, if mom presses the button and can't talk (perhaps due to a stroke) they can easily search previous calls from the device and determine the address (or family emergency contact) and send someone to check on her.HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR YOUR FIRST TEST CALL:1.) Press the button for several seconds until you see the hidden LEDs light up (next to the button).2.) You will hear a solid tone indicating the device has woken up. If not, press a little longer.3.) A few seconds later you will hear the normal "ringing" sound that you hear when you normally call someone.4.) When the operator asks, "What is the nature of your emergency?". Simply state that you are testing an emergency alert device.5.) Thank them for answering the call and ask them to include, in the call log (notes) for this call:a.) The name of the person who will be wearing the device.b.) The address where the device is being worn.c.) The name and phone number of an emergency contact (son, daughter, spouse, etc).d.) Thank them again for helping with the test and say goodbye. THEY will hang up. (You can't.)6. This process will need to be repeated if you move to another county or state.The device is used as a speakerphone held in the hand. It is not very loud so a person who is hard of hearing may need to hold it right up to the ear. People with normal hearing - sitting around a table in a QUIET room - can hear and understand the 911 dispatcher. This device supports outbound calls to 911 only. A single battery charge is good for 2 months because there is no need to listen for incoming calls. It wakes up from a DEEP sleep when the button is pressed and held. After seeing it demonstrated, Mom agreed to wear it when at home by herself. This is cheap security for a one-time $99.00 purchase.Internet research suggests that cell towers (almost everywhere) will continue to support G2 devices until at least 2021, but it wouldn't surprise me if there will be a legal requirement for this service to continue. It appears the G2 band will likely continue to be used for other types of internet-connected devices beyond 2021. Time will tell. ### ⭐ Worthless product. *by R***E on October 16, 2015* It did not come with any instructions for use besides the advice to charge it. There was no website to contact, no phone number to call. Peeled off their sticker and found the name of the actual manufacturers of the device, and requested info- got NO response. Contacted 911 and asked if we could test the devise. They gave me permission to test it and the result was that they got absolutely NO signal or indication. This product does not work. Stick with a reputable company that offers support would be my advice. ### ⭐⭐ Be aware of limitations! *by T***R on September 13, 2016* I got this for my mother and it is true the device does contacts 911 as advertised. However, there is no way to provide 911 with location information in advance of an actual emergency. If my mother is not able to tell the 911 operator her exact location in an emergency, 911 has no idea where to send help, nor does 911 have the ability to contact a family member. This seems like a roll of the dice when help is really needed.
