The echo bell works exactly as it should. I could not tell if the valves are Monel, but they are top loaded. ### ⭐ Flat beyond tuning and finish came ruined on "new" instrument *by J***R on November 7, 2019* I thought this would be a fun novelty horn, and maybe a halfway decent student cornet. No.The horn came with dents and marred finish on a supposedly new instrument. I could deal with the finish and blemishes, but the real problem is the horn is so flat that I couldn't bring it in tune. Tuning slides all the way in and it is almost a half-step flat.My recommendation to everyone is to not purchase this horn. Save your money and buy anything else. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good cornet, but needs a good cleaning *by T***Y on May 1, 2019* Cornet is a great little instrument for the price. Definitely needs a good bath before playing, as mine was horribly out of tune.
