Being glass, of course it can break but it is a high quality glass & you can feel/see that. The basket is amazing to use with loose tea and the glass lid is far sturdier than any other lids on my other brand glass tea pots. Overall, it's an absolutely lovely looking pot. One feature that may not factor in for many users but is a big factor for me is the handle shape. I'm able to grip it to pour without my hand sliding on a rounded handle. The flattish shape at the top of the handle is outstanding. I have arthritis in my hands so this is a huge point for me. I'm 100% please with being able to firmly hold & pour with this pot. Now that I see how beautiful this is, I think I'll order the next size larger as well for daily use. The quality is excellent and the pieces are sturdy, well made glass.
