Review: An amazing little camera! - I bought this to attach to a star tracker to help with aligning my camera for astrophotography. The USB interface seamlessly connects to my Android phone to allow me to use this camera in the field. The ability to zoom/focus proves invaluable for aligning the reticle within my mount. I am excited to finish aligning everything, then use this camera to go out and easily align my mount with Polaris for accurate star tracking!
Review: First few shots look great - I'm impressed with this camera module. I will be using this in the shop for high resolution photography in the shop. First few attempts look great. The camera is truly just plug and play, the picture above is just using the camera software included with Microsoft Windows 11. The camera will focus closely without distortion and even has a minor zoom function, just need to build a case and mount. Will update later when I have more time to experiment.

**Q: What is the depth of field?**
A: On the closest distance focus it has about 1.5 centimetres of depth of field. The lens can focus as close as 4 centimetres of the lens.2.7 centimetres are aproximately 1 inchFocusing on an object 4 metres away, the depth of field is about 1.5 metres.1 metre is aproximately 39.5 inchesThese values are taken with the lens set on 2.8 mm.When set on 12mm, the values are lower. About 1 centimetre on close focus and 70 centimetres (27.5 inches) when focusing at a distance of 4 metres.Hope it helps

**Q: Is the varifocal adjustment manual or motorized?**
A: Both the focus and focal length are manual adjustments.  Each has a small finger screw you can loosen to adjust the lense and tighten once set.

**Q: What size filter does this lens use?  it's threaded so it looks like it could take one.  i purchased a 25mm ir filter and it was close but didn't fit**
A: I purchased this for someone else, and don't know the answer to your question.

**Q: Will this need a program to run, or preview video**
A: It uses Twain. Any standard program that uses a webcam can be used. I use VLC player.

I'm impressed with this camera module. I will be using this in the shop for high resolution photography in the shop. First few attempts look great. The camera is truly just plug and play, the picture above is just using the camera software included with Microsoft Windows 11. I will say that I'm impressed with the quality photos from this little camera. Focus is pretty decent, and while I wouldn't say HD photos, it does a good job regardless. Easy to use, and would recommend.
