Review: Highly recommended if you want clear dialogue. - This sounbar is excellent if your TV has poor sound quality or if, like me, your hearing isn't what it used to be. We bought this to replace a much more expensive soundbar. It gave much more of a surround sound effect, but, no matter how it was adjusted, the dialogue was always muffled. The Bose soundbar gives crystal clear sound, even when the dialogue mode is not used. It is compact, unobtrusive and very easy to set up, even for a complete technophobe like myself. Highly recommended.
Review: TV speakers a bit muffled? A bit Mutt & Jeff? Here's the solution! - We sat down to enjoy our new 4K TV, and immediately found that we loved the picture, but also found, to our dismay, that the sound was somewhat tinny and, worst of all, the spoken dialogue was very hard to hear, especially if the actors did not stand up straight and speak like an Englishman! It seems to be the case, that a really good budget 4K TV provides an excellent picture, but will cut corners somewhere, and that is usually the sound, probably on the assumption many can address that by investing in additional speakers of some sort. OK, in our case, the poor sound was not helped by the fact someone (who shall remain nameless) is also going a bit deaf, especially in the base and mid tone areas. Obviously, this meant we had to break open the piggy bank, again, and invest in an Amp and some additional speakers or, perhaps, just a Soundbar. The Amp and Speakers option can be the optimum solution but, that is very expensive, especially if needing the HDMI throughput to be 4K. Soundbars seemed like a good idea, until you start looking, and find they come in all different prices, with often confusing reviews. As luck would have it, I already had a very nice set of BOSE Headphones, and the sound quality there is first rate. So, I decided that BOSE could be a good option to consider first. After a lot of pondering, I kept coming back to the BOSE TV Speaker (Soundbar), because the reviews seemed to be consistent, and the price at around £170 was not too painful. One click, and it was ordered, and then here the following day. Easy to set up via an HDMI Cable connected to the eARC port on the TV, after which the BOSE TV Speaker instantly improved the sound, both in terms of base and dialogue. Even better, it also features a dialogue enhancement option. When that is active, one of the two little LED on the top goes from White to Green. That feature dramatically improves dialogue still further, so much so, that we just leave that on full time. Are we pleased? Yes. Would we recommend this? Yes, without hesitation. The BOSE TV Speaker is an excellent choice that balances price and audio quality very well indeed. You can improve on this, but the cost will rapidly escalate to get anything better.

**Q: How do you attach the bose base module to this soundbar?  Via the output lead if the actual unit is connected to tv via hdmi? Or is there a dedicated**
A: There is a socket on the back of the sound bar marked bass. You just plug the lead into that and put the plug at the other end of the lead into the bass module. There are also instructions on the Bose website

**Q: Will this be good sound for a 65" tv?**
A: It's more about the size of the room, more than the size of the TV. Having said that, I doubt a 65 inch screen is in a box room. The speaker is great. The sound quality is rich and sharp. So unless you're looking to open a Cinema, I'd highly recommend it. I hope this helps.

**Q: Is this compatiple with my motherboard on pc, asus strix z490-a? the tech specs for the mobo do say it has a optical s/pdif in port(s) at back panel.**
A: This product should normally work with a PC as long as it has an optical port or an HDMI ARC port (standard HDMI will not work).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic sound. But Bose really needs to work on Apple TV compatibility.

Amazing sound from just two speakers and decent bass from the inbuilt subwoofer. Dialogue clarity is great too. Only downside I noticed was that using HDMI ARC was the sound seemed more muted and less expansive, but this I believe is an issue with the tv itself due to its age and lack of eARC which I’m told is far better. So bare this in mind if you have a TV that has this old HDMI port. Via Bluetooth the sound is punchy and brilliant, and given that this soundbar obviously lacks Dolby Atmos, but you will already know this when buying it! The Audio can be re-coded to Dolby Digital 5.1 in changing the audio format in Apple TV settings (if you are using one like myself) and it also helps prevent audio lag too. I highly recommend this soundbar and great value for money when on offer, I got this for £189 at the time of writing this review. Looks nice and slick too, as you’d expect from Bose. If you happen to desire far more powerful bass, this soundbar is compatible with Bose Bass Module 500 and 700.
