Getting the old lock actuator out is a whole other story. The bolts got stripped and I had to replace them. I got them out by drilling out the centers with a drill bit. This item though doesn't doesn't off or have any functional issues. Looks nearly identical to the OEM that was replaced in the door. Super pleased and highly recommended. ! ! ! Side note... I received a refund on my account for the item... not sure what happened there?

**Q: I was able to remove the door lock actuator from the door, no problem. since the rod is not included on this unit, how is it transferred?**
A: When removing the actuator I hope you were careful and didn’t bend the rod.  Just lay the old one beside the new one and you’ll be able to see how to transfer the rod to the new actuator.  That’s how I did it for mine.  Just be careful to not bend or break anything because that stuff is plastic and could break.

**Q: how do you remove the old rod/arm and transfer it to the new actuator unit???**
A: It’s very tight inside the door.  There should be a small plastic clip that you have to unclick to one side or the other, depends on which door your fixing.  Then you have to pull kinda hard to get the little rod loose.  Be sure to not bend it so pull on the end of the rod and not the middle.  There are several videos on YouTube if you need to see it done first.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This just works

I had the annoying sound of grinding gears coming from my rear CRV door. This product easily replaced the old door, works well with the unlocking mechanisms of the car, and generally I am satisfied with the product. Lots of YT videos to help, getting the screws out of the lock mechanism was the hardest part for me. CONS - the vertical bar that slid into the door, the one you'll have to transfer over to the new actuator, is held in by a small nylon piece that is shaped differently than the original. In fumbling with the actuator to get it into place, the whole bar fell off and lodged itself at the bottom of my door (due to the nyloon piece not holding it on properly). After fishing the bar out and re-attaching it, I was more careful the second time installing it and have had no issues in the weeks since. Small CON not worth taking off a star, just use caution. PROS - it works; no more sounds; easy to replace
