Adjustable and comfortable to wear. It does retain heat across the lower back which is only noticeable after removing. It also helps with sitting posture and restricting movements to prevent re-injury. The instructions for size order are to measure at/just below waist. If you are a petite person, a better measurement is across the hip bones. The extra small fits me with about an inch of overlap across the hip bones and more at waist level, but believe a small would have worked just fine. Which I have ordered as I see using this lumbar support to help prevent muscle strains/sprains in the future.
