A great little dashcam
After my previous one started playing up, I read the reviews for various dash cams that featured supercapacitors and GPS and decided to go with this one. It was a little bit more expensive that I was hoping to pay but has the added bonus of a rear dash cam. It was a breeze to set-up and the quality of the video and the unit itself is really good. I haven't tried it at night yet so can't comment on that. I'm really impressed with the menu as well which is much easier to navigate than my last one. It's a shame you can't record in the highest resolution whilst also recording using the rear camera but that's not a major issue. Very happy.

HEAD ON COLLISSION....BUT NO FOOTAGE!!!!!!
I spent hours & hours trying to shortlist and decide on a Dashcam for my budget and more importantly, something to offer reliability & peace of mind! I opted for this device as I trusted the specs, manufacturer & brand would uphold my needs. I was involved in a head on collision whilst i was in my car parked up on a rare sunny, dry day in London. Despite my innocence in the collision, there were no witnesses who could back me up if needed, but atleast I had my Rexing Dashcam as evidence incase the offender tried a 'fast one' (lies and says I had a part of play). After paramedics, police & bystanders left the scene and the dust had settled, the following day I attempted to retrieve the footage as evidence for both police report & insurers. To my bemusement, the only footage which had not been saved was the collision & a tiny while after!!! I was devasted but clinged onto the hope that I may have done something wrong or perhaps the manufacturer had locked the files into some sort of cloud due the nature of things and could release the footage to me upon my request. I contacted Rexing and they asked for me to send the broken / loading failure files to them for repair. I did, theybsemt back and assured me the files had been fixed. The files were still not there!!!! I complained again seeking help and they advised me there was nothing more they could do! So now I am left with no witnesses, no dashcam footage (which i spent £150 for and £150 installation) and the offenders word against mine!!!! Device looks good, tidy fit, has good camera and picture quality BUT ABSOLUTELY LACKS THE PEACE OF MIND AND RELIABILTY NEEDED FOR WHAT IT IS DESIGNED FOR...THE JUST INCASE MOMENTS!!!!! Full refund and compensation from manufacturer pending!

You get what you pay for
Superb picture quality, even at night. Unobtrusive at the top of the windscreen, and the rear unit is very compact. Easy to use after 10-15 minutes with the manual. Footage good enough for police to use to prosecute an impatient soul who pulled out from behind me into the oncoming lane and went around a keep-left sign, which was nice.

Good product but hardwiring is a bit of a pain
Works as expected, but instructions are not clear in terms of hardwiring. We had to do a lot of faffing around with different hardwiring kits to have it working.

Brilliant dash cam
This is a brilliant dash cam. Its the first time I've bought one and spent a few days researching. This is definitely worth the investment. Full of excellent features.

Customer service - unbelievably bad
Whilst the product is good, with a good UI and very good image quality both day and night (when working) sadly it is let down terribly by the lack of support from Rexing. This dash-cam suffers badly from auto re-booting (I only discovered this after purchase and experiencing problems) would suggest a Google search for the forums as I did and you will discover this is a common issue raised. The unit re-boots approximately every 90 seconds, even using the correct SD card (as recommended by Rexing) with both the Rexing genuine cigarette lighter power supply cable and also with the genuine Rexing HardWire kit. Assuming it may be an oddity of the vehicle power supply, I tried this dash-cam in 3 other vehicles all with the same problem. I purchased another new SD card (to Rexing spec) same problem, every time the vehicle is re-started, the SD card needs to be re-formatted, this may (sometimes) or may not (most often) resolve the re-booting issue. My biggest “gripe” is with Rexing support - both Rexing USA and Rexing EU seems to be linked and run from a central Zendesk support that just churns out templated responses, nobody seems to read the support tickets, every time you just receive a standard template reply which in no way addresses the issue you are seeking help for. Eventually, Rexing USA accepted the unit is faulty and agreed to replace under warranty - HOWEVER, although the unit was purchased from Amazom.co.uk, Rexing require you to pay a 36 USD carriage charge from USA to EU (UK), they hold a 20% retention until you return the original faulty unit after you have had to pay the return carriage costs to USA - EVEN though they display that they have a support team at Rexing EU. All in all, a very bad experience (and that was after a lot of research prior to purchase), looks like I will need to replace with a Nextbase unit, a brand that I have been using in our vehicles for many years. Would recommend some serious review and forum reads before making a purchase from Rexing. I have the entire email thread saved as proof of the issue.

Larger than the older model but much better.
I’ve used Rexing products for years and always found them to be excellent, I had the previous version of this camera on my old car but the rear camera was only VGA so when changing cars I thought it would be a good time to replace with something that records 1080p both front and rear. The main unit of this is probably 50% larger than the older model which did limit where on the windscreen it could be mounted. The rear unit is again about 50% larger but jumps from VGA to 1080p and the larger size does make it easier to mount. However, this model does have more movement in the lens so you can adjust it from side to side as well as up and down. Pic quality is excellent as per the previous model (front and rear!), the app is OK but I find it’s better to remove the memory card and copy the files manually. So why not more stars? Well the rear camera comes with a length of cable, too long for 1 route but a little short for another route. It looks like mini USB except it’s not, it’s actually mini USB type AB which is an older connector so you unless you are lucky enough to find a cable extender you can’t extend it, the only choice is the other route and try and hide the excess cable. But the worst part for me was the unmistakable smell of mood enhancing tobacco that whoever was boxing up happened to be smoking at the time, it stinks.
