Thankfully my sewing machine is a BEAST! and once I realized this was not going to stick to the material without some help I was able to sew through it. I'm not sure a home sewing machine would work as the backing is very sticky (sticks better to needles than fabric) and its very thick velcro in general but if you can sew it on its good stuff.
