It is quite stable compared to other solutions. On the first bathroom I installed the type that connects to the back of the seat, and wan not happy at all because it was too wobbly especially since my elderly father is about 220 lbs. This stand alone version is a much better solution and on my next visit I will get a second unit and replace the other type that was wobbly. I highly recommend this product. Also the price on Amazon is unbeatable and with Amazon prime, the shipping was free ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good stand, should work for most folks. *by T***S on February 22, 2016* It gets the job done. (Get it ? Ha ha, I'm so funny. Or something). Seriously though, this is pretty good. My in-laws are using it. She mentioned that the bars get a little in the way, but some people might point out that perhaps the it's what's between the bars that is too big. He is pretty frail and fussy but has, so far, taken it to heart. They have a bolt-on bidet attachment, and this fits around that easily. I like that it is free-standing and can be installed and removed in seconds. It is also very easy to assemble. One star taken away for two reasons : firstly, the bars at the front do pose a minor trip hazard to visually impaired people. That said, since the frame is not secured to anything, I can't see there an easy answer to this design "flaw". Just be aware of it. Secondly, although it is very sturdy, it does occasionally skate a little if it's on a hard floor. You may need to consider adding something rubber or sticky to the bottom of the floor bars. ### ⭐ I returned this item because it was too large for ... *by R***E on February 15, 2015* I returned this item because it was too large for our space and because even if it were smaller it blocked the toilet paper holder on the wall which could not be tolerated. The only positive thing was the ease with which it was returned.
