Their USB-to-serial hardware solutions have been used for years in the embedded products for which I write software and firmware. They just work, and their application vastly simplifies maintenance and reduces footprint on the board. This cable, which has an FTDI TTL-level serial to USB converter chip inside, was the only device of this type that worked of the three I tried. And it did so flawlessly.
