Almost a wee bit loose. But just different from my old pair--I have a pair of older Rafters which I still LOVE, and those are more heavy construction (and weigh a little bit more) in a flip-flop, with firmer cushioning. I wear them all the time. These are great and more light-weight. The arch is comfortable and more pronounced on these than the old one (although maybe it's gone in those!). I can see carrying these on a pack back country camping whereas the others are heavier. This material is more "flippy-floppy" and lighter, and the other difference is on the sole: on these I can see the plastic piece holding the fabric from the top in place, on my old ones it is not visible. I like them so far!******UPDATE:*******Fall 2014:Yep, there's a hard plastic part underfoot that is not happy for feet after a while; unlike my still amazing OLD Rafters. I still like them for their lightweight aspect and arch support, and a good pair of house sandals as well. Had to exchange them for one size bigger. Either my feet grew or the sizes changed. Still a good flip flop-------The first pair I received had some sort of sharp plastic piece (very tiny) that stuck out where the strap went into the sandal - as described by some in their reviews. Yes - it was uncomfortable but I returned them for another pair. The second pair not as bad and was able to push that annoying piece down. No problems.The flip flops are great! Comfortable, great support, durable. I'm able to go out and walk for longer periods with these. I was wearing flojos and old navy sandals and would be in pain (foot, leg, sciatic) with them. Average arch support but very comfortable *by M***K on Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2015* From someone with feet problems, plantar ficitis,flat feet, tendonitis: l like this sandals special the color that l ordered (brown) and the price,but to say that these sandals are Ortho sandals is a major stretch of the truth. They are very light, have some foot support and you could walk around the house with them( if your floor is carpeted). The sandals do not have heel support and if you walk outside the sole is very thin and l could feel any sharp object specially in this area. I would order another pair but l would only wear them indoors.
