The actual fabric that the Velcro adheres to is coming apart from the strap itself. By no means do I place heavy use on the strap. The Velcro no longer catches the hairs. Good way to loose your keys. Was immediately impressed by the quality of both the materials and its construction. It is made for tactical use. No need to worry about it being ripped of your belt or Molly bag. The Velcro requires a good intentional pull to open.The clasp is made of a sturdy molded non-ferrous material, as is the trigger that closes it. There is no lateral play between the two parts. Molded into the surface of the trigger is a series of horizontal grooves affording a surface that keeps the wearer's thumb from slipping for easy one-handed opening and closing. It is sturdier, securer and easier to operate than the look-alike lower cost versions also offered on Amazon.
