Review: Third bag and still happy! - After many. many years of dusty clay litter I finally switched to sWheat Scoop litter. The idea of using something healthier for both my cat and me was very appealing. Even more convincing was finding all the places where the clay dust had sifted in what I always viewed as my tidy bedroom suite. There was clay dust in every crevice, even inside the motor casing of my ceiling fan. A major cleaning took place and then the new sWheat litter. I didn't want to deal with another clay dust clean up so I crossed my fingers and dumped it in the clean pan. (They tell you to transition the cat onto the new litter over a period of days) RP loved it! Jumped in, gave it a good inspection and then had a nice wee. He has been happily using it ever since with no issues. I keep a nice deep layer in the pan at all times and scoop daily. By doing this, there is no odor, unless he jumps out without burying his treasures. The urine clumps nicely and is easy to scoop and dump into little dollar store trash bags, the same with his bm's although if he doesn't bury that and I notice it in the pan, I scoop it up, give it a shake to get rid of the loose sWheat granules, drop in the toilet and flush. The questions everyone want to have answered.... What does it smell like - there is a faint scent, a bit like dry sweet hay. Is it dusty - there is a bit of dust when you dump it in, but very minimal and nothing like what I had from my high end 'low dust' clay litter. Does it track - yes, but again it is not as much as the old litter. Because of the way cat feet are designed, litter is always going to get between toe pads and when they jump out it will fall out. I keep a little dust pan & brush next to his litter pan. When I do the daily scoop routine, I flick my little brush around, gather the bits in the dust pan and dump back in the cat pan. It only takes a minute to clean up. and now for the big question.... Does it smell bad and the big answer... If you don't properly maintain your cat pan, it is always going to smell bad. Stale urine and feces develop a very unpleasant odor. BUT,,, if you keep enough litter in the pan, and scoop once a day, EVERY DAY, you will not have any odor. If you have four cats like my friend, the pan may need more attention than just once a day - or a second pan available. I am on my third bag and very happy. The dust is so much less than the old clay litter. Any dust or scatter is much safer for both you and your cat. It isnt chemically treated clay that is terrible for your lungs. The bags aren't as heavy to lug around. No fake perfumy smell that both you and the cat hate. It works for us.
Review: Great, biodegradable clumping litter - I've used sWheat Scoop for years, with single and more than one cat. I find it clumps very well and really keeps the odor at bay. The dust is pretty much nonexistent, which is a plus. As expected with lots of clumping cat litters, if you break apart a large clump, you will get some odor. And I don't know of any cat litter that's the "ground" type (as opposed to the larger crystals) that doesn't track. Believe me, I've tried lots of them. I will say that I love that this litter is not harmful to pets, people or the planet. It's biodegradable. I use biodegradable/compostable bags with it to ensure it degrades. Actually, they still claim that you can flush clumps down the toilet without harm to your system. I used to do that, but I found that large clumps really needed to be broken up to do so, so I haven't flushed this litter in years (and it's more convenient if the litter box is in a bathroom, and for years I've had no space for it in any bathroom).

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the difference between swheat scoop fast-clumping and swheat scoop multi cat litter?**
A: Swheat scoop fast-clumping is the original litter, more for one cat households, and swheat scoop multicat is for multiple cat households. They are both fast-clumping.

I have used both side-by-side at the same time and prefer the original, even in my three-cat household. The multicat either has a strange odor or doesn’t cover up odors from the cats as well.

**Q: What are your opinions on this one vs world's best cat litter? some say clumps better, some say worse from what i see from the reviews...**
A: Didn't like World's Best, love Swheat Scoop. World's Best very dusty and smelly, which didn't help me, at all, with the litter box issues I was having with my 22 yr old cat. After several other fails, I came across Swheat Scoop and absolutely love it and, apparently, so does my old girl. No dust, no odor and clumps nicely. We have 2 cats, so I use the multi-car.

**Q: Is the bag recyclable?**
A: It depends on where you live. It is not recyclable with plastic grocery bags. Some areas recycle #7 plastic. Some don't.

**Q: What are the ingredients of this product besides wheat?**
A: It mentions "Corn" as an ingredient.
Is it Non GMO?

### ⭐ Tracks, Stinks, and more.
*by A***R on March 20, 2018*

I buy a LOT of stuff from Amazon, but I write hardly any reviews. I had to regarding this product. I have 5 cats that are all rescue cats, but one. With six litter boxes, we were really looking for a more natural litter that wasn't dusty and didn't track. Odor control and clumping was a plus too. I saw this product, loved the idea and most of the reviews and gave it a try........unfortunately. I put this product in the two main litter boxes that are used the most, as a trial. After using the 75 pounds I bought, I have determined that this may be the worst cat litter we have ever tried. First, it tracks like crazy. It is made of wheat, so imagine clumps and crumbs of urine soaked "cookie dough" everywhere. We have large litter mats in front of all the pans and we STILL have cat litter on the carpets, the kitchen floor, the beds, the window sills, you name it. We vacuum constantly. This stuff is VERY sticky when wet and the cats always have it stuck to their feet. The stickiness is an issue when cleaning the pans too. It never clumps hard, but remains moist and like glue on the sides and bottom of the cat pans, requiring a good deal of effort to scrap the pan clean. (BTW - I would NEVER flush this stuff down a toilet with a septic system! That would simply be asking for an expensive repair.) It is heavy, wet, and is not cost effective at all. The next big problem is the smell. Admittedly, it does a good job of masking the urine smell.........with it's own sickening urine/wheat combination smell. We've had cats for most of the last 40 years. We used to place rescued litters at our family business. We are very used to cleaning cat pans. The smell from this stuff almost makes me gag and my wife just can't stand it. I don't like perfumed cat litter, but this odor is worse. Lastly, and more importantly (and the push I needed to write this review), two of my cats have developed pretty severe skin allergies, resulting in constant licking and hair pulling......creating large hairless areas. We have never experienced this before. Our vet thought it was a food allergy but was skeptical. We tried hypo-allergenic foods to no avail. I had to dose each one with anti-histamines each day, and even that did not completely stop the itching. Removing this litter from the equation has dramatically improved the condition. Their hair is starting to grow back (in a different color! LOL) We never thought that cat litter could be the issue, until the vet asked about any litter changes. All in all, I would not recommend this litter. When I changed litter, I had to scrub the pans with soap and water and a rough sponge. Some of the dried on spots required scraping with a cedar shingle. I'm using a non-tracking, non-stick kind now. I like it much better. I know I sound like a real complainer, but I'm really not. This is just a bad product. At least it is for us, and our cats, and I thought other cat lovers should know of our experience before buying this. It is really too bad as this seems like such a good, healthy idea.
